The moment was beyond Williams’ imagination.
There was a singles match between Austin Theory and Carmelo Hayes on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Post-match, Theory and Grayson Waller beat down Hayes.
Making the save was Hayes’ partner, Trick Williams, who expressed that he came out because him and Hayes had their Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal match coming up. The two won that bout and are now heading to NXT Vengeance Day to compete in the final.
Williams was invited onto Busted Open Radio with David LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer and dove into the crowd reaction he received on SmackDown.
Honestly, it’s a dream come true (reaction he received at 1/26 WWE SmackDown). I think that’s the feeling that every wrestler wants to feel. Running out when you hear your music being played. So, beyond my imagination. Who thinks their first debut is gonna sound like that? So, I’m grateful for it.
In addition to Williams being in the Dusty Classic finals, he’ll also be headlining Vengeance Day in an NXT Championship match against Ilja Dragunov.
