High praise for Toni Storm.

The AEW Women’s World Champion is ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm and she’s been reigning as champion since Full Gear 2023

Storm’s current presentation was praised by fellow AEW talent Dustin Rhodes while he was on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling. Rhodes said the ‘Timeless’ character reminds him of Goldust; citing the lighting, her mannerisms and how the production team shoots Storm.

Rhodes went on to praise AEW’s women’s division and said he wants the best for them. He added that Storm has come to him for wisdom about how to present the ‘Timeless’ character. Rhodes explained why he views Storm’s matches as ‘movies’.

Whether people think it or not, we (AEW) are entertainment. But we are pro wrestling. We wrestle a lot on these shows and to do both of those at the same time, like Toni Storm is doing with her character, it just blows me out of the water. I talk to her all the time and tell her she reminds me of my old days of Goldust and just the things that she does and mannerisms and the film and the black and white and stuff like that and it’s so cool and it’s something that nobody’s doing, but we are and I think our production team is top notch when it came to putting together all those things for her and her video walls and her black and white stuff. I mean, that’s hard work and these guys do an awesome job at making her look like that is what her true self is, you know what I’m saying? And it’s really cool to watch this and I can’t wait to see that. Like I said, to me, it’s like, oh God, I’m gonna be on the edge of my seat for that one because it’s gonna be fun because I love women’s wrestling, I do, I always have and I do love these ladies we have. They’re a special, special breed and they’re sweet, sweethearts. Sweet girls and I just want the best for ‘em and I want them to get what they deserve and you know, right now, we’re doing good. We’re doing really good and the women’s division is one of the best in the world.

Yes (Toni Storm has come to me for wisdom about her ‘Timeless’ character). She has, she has and we’ve worked on a few of her mannerisms and maybe something in her matches that might be really cool and interesting. If you’re watching a movie and this stands out because to me, her matches are like a movie to me. The more she acts and the more she does her mannerisms and her facial expressions and her entertainment stuff while wrestling and kicking somebody’s ass, it just makes for good television and I know this for a fact, there’s somebody watching a Toni Storm match, they’re not turning the channel. They’re interested, because I’m interested. If I’m interested in it, I know the fans are interested in it and it’s a special, special thing right now with production, you know, behind the scenes. We picked up Michael Mansury. He’s unbelievable. I’ve known him for years and he has grabbed a hold of this set and he’s grabbed a hold of the production in the back and doing just an extremely well job and hats off to him but, Toni Storm, watch out world. She’s only going to get bigger.

Storm is scheduled to take on Red Velvet on the 2/7 Dynamite in a Eliminator match. On commentary for the bout will be Storm’s opponent at AEW Revolution, Deonna Purrazzo
