A statement from STARDOM on Ogawa’s departure
Via their social media and digital channels, STARDOM made the announcement that Rossy Ogawa’s agreement with the promotion has been terminated.
Alongside Nanae Takahashi, Ogawa co-founded STARDOM and in recent years, he’s served as the promotion’s Executive Producer.
The promotion noted that he was trusted with tasks related to STARDOM and they learned that he has poached wrestlers and staff members. As a result, they’ve terminated his contract and he’ll no longer be serving in his executive producer role.
In the announcement, they apologized and noted that they’ll continue to develop STARDOM.
Ogawa took to Twitter and noted that he was notified after STARDOM’s latest show that his contract was being terminated. He added that the truth of the situation may be told someday but for now, his concern is the wrestlers.
Damn that’s a big story in Joshi wrestling involving the Co-founder of the biggest women’s wrestling promotion in Japan. I wonder who will take over Ogawa’s place and what does it mean for the booking of talent in STARDOM for the foreseeable future?
This is wacky. Poaching for who? A new joshi promotion of his own? Pipelining talent to either major NA company? A hypothetical WWE Japan startup? TK’s cryptic tweeting isn’t clearing anything up, either.
Sounds like a big blow to Stardom.
Possibly tied to Kairi Sane returning to WWE?
Considering how loyal most of the STARDOM roster is to Rossy, I don’t know how good this can be for the promotion.
This Rossy guy sounds like snake.
Hasn’t he got previous history of this? Poaching Aja Kong and forming his own promotion, then Aja Kong sued him.
He also poached Giulia from Ice Ribbon too, to bring her to Stardom.
Dude is proper shady.
Well… yes.
