Big E says it’d be fun to come back for New Day vs. Imperium trios match

The idea of the match is intriguing to Big E.

Dating back to start of 2024, New Day and Imperium have been intertwined on WWE TV. It began in a tag match on the Day 1 edition of Monday Night Raw when Kingston delivered a dropkick to Giovanni Vinci that connected flush and Vinci was sidelined with a concussion

That led to an on-screen program between Kingston and Woods against Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser. WWE Intercontinental Champion and Imperium’s leader GUNTHER bested Kofi Kingston on the 1/29 Raw to retain his title.

The idea of Big E joining the program was discussed on the Sarah O’Connell Show when E was asked about dream matches. He said it’d be fun to come back for a trios match between New Day and Imperium, adding that tagging with Woods and Kingston is the best way to end things.

I think something probably like a six-man. I think a trios match, to do it again with Kofi (Kingston) and (Xavier) Woods, that’s the best way to end things. They’ve been such a big part of my career… It’s a great match, Imperium’s doing great things. I think there’s a lot of buzz. GUNTHER’s just been amazing, been on an incredible run and obviously, you know, they’ve been locking horns with Imperium so to be back for a match like that would be big but, honestly, any six-man with the brothers, my guys, I think would be something that would mean a lot to me… Yeah, it’d be fun. It’s a cool contrast of styles too. They’re so stoic and austere and we’re anything but, so, yeah, that’d be fun.

Big E has been out of action since March 2022 when he suffered a broken neck. He’s provided a multitude of updates over the last two years and said he’s feeling great, but wants to be smart about his future in regards to an in-ring return.

Imperium and New Day were in a Undisputed WWE Tag Title number one contenders match on the 2/5 Raw. For more information about that, click here.
