The grandson of Brian Pillman is being called a hero for his actions in preventing a potential mass shooting.
Fifteen-year-old Boom Swallen, the son of Zach Swallen, and grandson of the late Brian Pillman, alerted authorities after overhearing a classmate outlining their plan to carry out a mass shooting at Mariemont High School in Ohio.
WLWT 5 in Cincinnati spoke with Zach about his son’s interaction with a fellow student and the threat that was issued to Boom:
He told my son that if he told anybody that, he was going to put a gun to his head and pull the trigger and blow his brains out. He’s my hero.
There were firearms involved and that it was a serious threat that was promised to take place this week, any day, this week. Just thinking about what could have been is something it’s, it’s a nightmare.
He told me that, you know, he didn’t care if he was killed, that protecting his classmates was more important than his life.
