AEW Dynamite attracted a huge audience in Canada on Wednesday night.
The February 21 episode from Tulsa, Oklahoma, averaged approximately 204,000 viewers and 97,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2.
While our records do not account for every week Dynamite has aired, this would be the largest audience for the program in Canada that we are aware of. It tops the previous high set on March 15, 2023, which averaged 197,200 viewers.
It was extra impressive because it was a competitive night in Canada for sports programming. Dynamite didn’t even rank among the top ten sports programs, which included three NHL games and multiple Curling broadcasts.
For a comparison, last Friday’s edition of SmackDown averaged 186,000 viewers and 64,000 in 25-54 with Raw averaging 253,400 viewers and 95,100 in 25-54 on Sportsnet 360.
Dynamite’s audience in Canada increased 76% from last week while the demo grew by 117%.
In the U.S. the show averaged 828,000 viewers and 0.29 in the demographic on TBS and ranked first among cable originals for Wednesday, per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The show was headlined by Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland & Brian Cage vs. Hangman Page, HOOK & Rob Van Dam, and opened with FTR vs. Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli.
