AEW Revolution press conference notes: Kyle O’Reilly’s return, Stephanie Vaquer, Samoa Joe talks locker room

To cap off the festivities of AEW Revolution, there was a press conference and among those that took to the podium was AEW President and CEO, Tony Khan.

For Khan’s solo scrum session, here were the highlights:

  • He does not think it’d be fair to assume Kenny Omega will be cleared for AEW’s Winnipeg shows on May 1st just because he’s on the promotional material. He believes Omega will be back at some point.
  • Khan stated that it’s amazing to have Kyle O’Reilly back.
  • He is planning for Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston to be at ROH Supercard of Honor on April 5th.
  • States that the run to AEW Dynasty is going to be special. He feels the company is building their own dynasty.
  • Khan said the relationship with CMLL can feature women crossing over. He has already talked to Salvador Lutteroth about Stephanie Vaquer coming to AEW and Khan would love to have her there.

Starting off the press conference was Samoa Joe, who retained his AEW World Title at the pay-per-view. Joe talked about the following:

  • He never doubted he’d get back to the position he’s in now. He took the proper amount of time to heal. Joe reacted to Swerve Strickland’s comment about him being on commentary in a poncho. Joe said he was still a millionaire doing that and he whooped Strickland at Revolution.
  • Joe spoke highly of Sting as a wrestler and person.
  • He doesn’t think the AEW locker room has ever been tighter or better than it is now. Joe added that there’s a genuine excitement and it’s been a long time since spirit has been felt there.
