NXT Roadblock notes: Roxanne sends Lyra to hospital, new member of The Family, Sol Ruca returns

The duo of Tatum Paxley and NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria challenged The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. There was a point in the bout when Valkyria accidentally kicked Paxley in the head and Kairi went on to pin Tatum to retain the titles. Post-match, Valkyria was ambushed by Roxanne Perez. Perez trapped Lyra’s arm across the ring ropes and stepped on it. Valkyria was stretchered out and taken to a hospital.

Prior to scoring a win over Carmelo Hayes in the main event to secure an NXT Championship match at Stand & Deliver, Tony D’Angelo hired Luca Crusifino as The Family’s consigliere.

Sol Ruca emerged from the crowd during Blair Davenport and Fallon Henley’s match and took out Davenport. Henley won the match via the assist. Roca had been sidelined since early 2023 with an ACL injury and she returned to in-ring action in February at an NXT house show. Davenport is credited for her injury.

Announced for the 3/12 NXT are the following bouts:

  • NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Brooks Jensen
  • Gigi Dolin vs. Arianne Grace (If Grace wins, she gets to teach Dolin how to be a lady)

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin held onto their NXT Tag Team Championships by defeating Chase University’s Duke Hudson and Andre Chase.

After Ridge Holland opted not to hit Shawn Spears with a chair at Roadblock, Spears said he expected Holland to want a match and that was made official for 3/12.

In the show opener, Dijak bested Joe Gacy in an Asylum match.

Lexis King did the intro for Roadblock and dropped a line about how being a loose cannon can sometimes pay off.
