Jax called it an honor.
Along the way to WrestleMania 40, WWE stopped through Perth, Australia for their Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
The show headliner was Nia Jax challenging Australia’s own Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship. Jax guest appeared on Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore and shared that it was the night prior to the P.L.E. that she found out they would be headlining the show. Jax felt a lot of pressure going into it.
I didn’t know (Rhea Ripley & myself were main eventing Elimination Chamber) until I think the night before. I think somebody had sent a card to me and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, does this mean that we’re on in the main event?’ I’m not gonna lie, it felt like a lot pressure because you had some pretty stacked Elimination Chambers and a great tag on the card and so — and then you had The Grayson Waller Effect. Being main event of that show, it was a pretty big deal for me and I just wanted to put on the best match I possibly could with a great story. Easy with Rhea Ripley but, wanted to be able to tell a really good story to the fans and hope that it resonated to them and it was an honor to main event in front of all those people.
Ripley is headed towards a clash with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania. On the 3/4 Monday Night Raw, Nia took out both Becky and Liv Morgan as the three have been intertwined while going after Ripley’s title.
