WWE NXT notes: Trick Williams issues Stand & Deliver challenge & takes out Meta-Four, Ilja/Tony D, Shawn Spears

To close the 3/12 NXT, Trick Williams called out Carmelo Hayes for a match at Stand & Deliver on April 6th. He was interrupted by The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson & Oro Mensah). After some verbal back and forth, Williams took out both Dar and Mensah. Legend swung on Williams but he pulled her in for a kiss. The two are in a relationship off-screen.

While The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, Adriana Rizzo & Luca Crusifino) were having dinner, they were approached by D’Angelo’s Stand & Deliver opponent, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov. Lorenzo, Crusifino and Rizzo left the table and when Dragunov had his back turned, Crusifino and Stacks kidnapped him. Cameras cut to Luca and Stacks waiting for D’Angelo by a running car. The Family took Dragunov to a bridge and that was so that D’Angelo could show him that he can make anything happen at any time. They left Dragunov at the bridge and he stated that he always finds a way back.

Shawn Spears scored a victory over Ridge Holland. Holland put him through the commentary table and was going to hit him with a chair before the referee pulled the weapon away. Spears ended up capitalizing and hit his ‘C4’ finisher on Holland to secure the win.

In the show opener, L.W.O. (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) bested O.T.M. (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) to advance in the number one contenders tournament to earn a Tag Title shot at Stand & Deliver. On 3/19, The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) are facing Hank Walker and Tank Ledger in addition to Axiom and Nathan Frazer facing a duo from No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Drew Gulak, Myles Borne or Damon Kemp) in qualifying matches. The three winning teams will make up the Triple Threat number one contender’s match.

Oba Femi’s reign as North American Champion continued as he bested Brooks Jensen to retain.

In addition to the qualifying matches, the following has been announced for 3/19:

  • Roxanne Perez vs. Tatum Paxley
  • NXT Heritage Cup — Catch Clause Rules: No Quarter Catch Crew (c) vs. Riley Osborne

Kelani Jordan was ambushed backstage prior to a tag match in which she was supposed to team with Thea Hail to face Kiana James and Izzi Dame. Fallon Henley stepped in but Dame and James went on to score the win. Post-match, Thea expressed to Jacy Jayne that she’s going back to the old Thea and is done being under Jayne’s influence.

There was a singles match between Arianna Grace and Gigi Dolin. Dolin low blowed Grace which got her disqualified and per the stipulation, Dolin will be guided by Grace.
