Valkyria requested the match.
To kick off the 3/19 NXT on USA Network, Roxanne Perez went one-on-one with Tatum Paxley. After Perez submitted Paxley with a cross face, she got on the microphone and directed her message to NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria.
Perez went after Valkyria at Roadblock and sent her to the hospital. Valkyria made her return and she brawled with Perez at ringside. Perez got the better of the exchange and hooked Valkyria in for a cross face which further damaged Valkyria’s arm.
Following that, NXT General Manager Ava approached Lyra in the trainer’s room and Valkyria demanded that she defend the NXT Women’s Title against Perez at Stand & Deliver and it was made official.
