It looks like AEW will avoid a face-off with Wrestlemania next month.
The April 6 episode of AEW Collision has been moved to a later timeslot than its usual 8 p.m. ET Saturday start on TNT, per a schedule released by the TV channel recently. The episode will instead air at 11:30 p.m. ET that evening, meaning it will likely kick off shortly after the first night of WWE Wrestlemania 40 concludes.
While Collision’s move certainly avoids forcing AEW’s viewers to pick which product they will watch live, the decision to put the show on later than usual seems to be entirely unrelated. TNT will air a pair of NCAA March Madness games on Saturday night, presenting the “Final Four” semi-finals of the ratings goliath event.
The second of two games is expected to conclude at 11 p.m., with a 30-minute post-game show following it. AEW will then begin on late Saturday evening and end on early Sunday morning.
AEW’s schedule has already been shifted around significantly due to March Madness. Rampage, the promotion’s Friday night show, was moved to Wednesday following Dynamite last week. Collision did not air at all on Saturday.
This week’s AEW schedule will be back to normal, with Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision all airing in their usual timeslots. The NCAA March Madness tournament is expected to conclude on April 8.
