Cody Rhodes: 40 years of WrestleMania was basically celebrated in WrestleMania XL night two main event

Rhodes had his moment.

Roman Reigns’ reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion dated back to August of 2020 when he returned to the company and regained the championship

That near-four year run came to an end in the main event of WrestleMania XL night two where he was bested by Cody Rhodes. During the bout, the likes of Jey Uso, John Cena and The Undertaker appeared to back Rhodes and offset Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who were there to assist Reigns.

Appearing on TODAY, Rhodes stated that 40 years of WrestleMania was celebrated in that main event.

What was fun was at the point of the match when John (Cena) comes down, it was like lightning struck in the arena. Just, he brings an energy that’s very John Cena, very special. Also, he’s been the quarterback of the WWE, he’s been the champion. Then to have The Undertaker, which is a different level of energy. 40 years of WrestleMania was basically celebrated in one match and then The People’s Champ as he likes to call himself, The Rock. Just again, 40 years and I think the fans felt every bit of that.

In addition to Rhodes, Raw now has a new World Heavyweight Champion. Damian Priest cashed in on Drew McIntyre and to read more about that, click here.
