Athena will make a rare appearance on AEW broadcast television on Saturday as she defends the ROH Women’s World Championship against Red Velvet.

Saturday’s Battle of the Belts special marks Athena’s first appearance on AEW TV since she was defeated by Willow Nightingale in the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament on July 12th, 2023.

However, she has competed under the AEW banner during the Zero Hour pre-show segments ahead of AEW WrestleDream in October 2023, and AEW All Out in September 2023.

The Battle of the Belts clash is the first time that Athena and Red Velvet have competed.

Athena is just a week removed from a successful title defense against Hikaru Shida at ROH Supercard of Honor 2024.

AEW Battle of the Belts will air on Saturday at 10 pm on TNT directly after Collision.
