The vacant NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles were won earlier on Sunday at Wrestling World 2024 in Taiwan.

The titles had been dormant since January, when Kazuchika Okada vacated them during his final run with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano and Oleg Boltin were victorious in a one-day tournament at the special event in New Taipei City.

The final saw the trio defeat House of Torture’s EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, and SHO.

Elsewhere on the show, which marked NJPW’s first show in Taiwan in seven years, DOUKI earned a title match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship with a win over Kosei Fujita. Current champion SHO attacked DOUKI after the match.

The IWGP Tag Team Championships were also defended at the event, with Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI) retaining after defeating Yuya Uemura and SANADA.

Sunday’s event was the inaugural show for the Asia Pacific Federation of Wrestling, which includes promotions from Japan (NJPW and STARDOM), China (DFW), Singapore (GrappleMax), Thailand (SetUp) and Taiwan (Puzzle).
