Hook vs. Chris Jericho, trios titles match added to AEW Dynasty

A pair of late additions were added to AEW Dynasty on Wednesday night. The matchups are joining a pay-per-view lineup from St. Louis, Missouri, which is now just a few days away.

After a mentorship went sour, Hook will put his FTW Championship up against Chris Jericho this weekend.

Jericho has portrayed himself as an egotistical trainer for Hook in recent weeks, trying to put him under his “learning tree.” Hook has shown little interest in Jericho’s help, causing a title match to be made between them eventually.

The new singles matchup for this weekend’s show was booked following a segment between the two on Wednesday. Hook explicitly declined the help of Jericho, causing the veteran talent to degrade both him and his father, Taz. Hook ended the segment by saying that Jericho crossed a line and that he can show his skill anytime, anyplace.

The match will be the fourth time that Hook has put his FTW belt on the line since regaining it in 2023.

A title unification bout will be added to the pre-show as well. AEW Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed will take on ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Bullet Club Gold.

The Acclaimed and Bullet Club Gold have been in a program for months, with the long hinted-at payoff being one of the teams earning both titles. This weekend’s show could potentially put an end to that rivalry.

Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White called for a match on Sunday’s card, with the winning team claiming both the AEW and ROH titles. The Acclaimed accepted the challenge, causing the match to be made official on Wednesday night.

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty show is now an incredibly busy 10 matches, including appearances from the promotion’s top men’s and women’s titles. Here’s how the show looks at the moment:
