Matt Cardona underwent successful surgery for his torn pec this week, beginning his recovery process.
“The Indy God” confirmed earlier this week that he had to be withdrawn from numerous bookings after suffering a torn pec. He said that he would be able to make appearances and attend autograph signings, but was unable to wrestle for the time being.
“There is no good time to get injured,” he said on social media platform X. “But this certainly isn’t a good time. I have to keep going forward… There’s no other option.”
I tore my pec in a match on Saturday. I’ll be getting surgery.

Cardona provided an update from Thursday after his surgery concluded. He thanked his wife Chelsea Green and gave credit to the medical team that performed the surgery.
“Surgery done,” he wrote. “The road to recovery starts now … You can’t kill me… I’m already dead.
Cardona has been highly active on the independent scene since 2021, giving himself the “Indy God” nickname along the way. Wrestling database Cagematch tracked 82 different matches featuring Cardona last year, including appearances in MLW, AEW, HOG, and more.
