One of NJPW’s top junior talents won’t be competing in Best of the Super Junior 31 next month.

It was announced Thursday that YOH has been withdrawn from the tournament due to injury. A statement from NJPW says that YOH was hurt during his Sakura Genesis match against SHO, which came to an end in under two minutes.

“YOH sustained a dislocated left shoulder as well as damage to the shoulder labrum,” the statement said.

This year will mark just the second time that YOH has missed out on a Best of the Super Junior tournament since 2018. He has been a big part of the brackets in the past, making it as far as the finals in 2021 before falling to Hiromu Takahashi in 38 minutes.
