Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will sign on the dotted line for his first match as champion next week.
Rhodes and AJ Styles will face off for a contract signing on the April 26 episode of Smackdown from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, as announced Friday.
Styles earned a title shot against Rhodes in recent weeks, picking up a pair of wins to set up a match for the Backlash Premium Live Event early next month.
Styles won a triple threat match two weeks ago, then beat rival LA Knight on Friday to secure #1 contender status.
While Rhodes wasn’t present on this week’s Smackdown, a taped promo from him taken during the ongoing WWE U.K. tour aired, addressing his upcoming match against Styles in France.
The main focus of next week’s Smackdown will be the beginning of the 2024 WWE Draft. The event, which will begin on Smackdown and conclude a few days later on Raw, will see wrestlers get transferred from one WWE brand to another.
