A new NXT Champion is crowned.
The headlining bout of NXT Spring Breakin’ night one was Trick Williams challenging Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship. If Williams were to lose, he would have to leave the NXT brand.
The conclusion of the bout saw Williams connect with his running knee strike and that was enough to put Dragunov down. Williams is now the 23rd NXT Champion.
On the lead-up to the match, Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed & Ivy Nile), J.D. McDonagh, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate did interviews with Kelly Kincaid to share their thoughts about the title match.
As match time inched closer, Johnny Gargano gave a pep talk to Williams and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest told Dragunov good luck.
