This past month’s two-night WrestleMania 40 event generated nearly forty million dollars in ticket sales, according to a report.

The JohnWallStreet financial analysis outlet lists this year’s gate receipts for WrestleMania 40 at $38.5 million over two nights at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The report states that the figures represent a seventy-eight percent increase over WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium last year, and a one-hundred-and-forty-seven percent growth over WrestleMania 38 at AT&T Stadium in 2022.

Given the percentages and principal figure generated this year, Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston noted that it reflects a gate of $15.6 million in live ticket sale for WrestleMania 38 in 2022 and $21.6 million for WrestleMania 39.

From the article:

The positive macro results can be attributed to a series of successful micro transactions (think: the returns of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and CM Punk, Paul Levesque taking over as chief creative officer), and coherent long-term storytelling. Cody Rhodes’ match against Roman Reigns was the culmination of a multi-year story line. The Rock wrestled alongside Reigns in another extended chronicle.

The previous one-night gate record for any wrestling company was $17.3 million set on April 3, 2016, for WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium.

Earlier this month, Peacock touted that WrestleMania 40 was the “most-streamed entertainment event” ever on the service (excluding the NFL) with 1.3 billion minutes streamed over the two nights.
