Two-time IWGP Global Champion David Finlay.

For the second time, David Finlay is IWGP Global Champion. He regained the title at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku and ended Nic Nemeth’s reign.

Finlay is the first-ever IWGP Global Champion. He won the title at Wrestle Kingdom 18 in a three-way involving Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. After that first title win, he got into a brawl with Nemeth who made his NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom.

A month later, Nemeth defeated Finlay at The New Beginning in Sapporo to kick off his title reign. Nemeth had one defense of the belt and that was against Hiroshi Tanahashi at the 5/3 Wrestling Dontaku show

He called out Finlay for a title shot and his reign came to an end when they clashed.
