Gabe Kidd stole the spotlight when six promotions came together for a card at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan on Monday evening.
Kidd attacked NOAH’s GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya after the star scored a win in the main event, tagging alongside NJPW talent Shota Umino and DDT champ Yuki Ueno to defeat Konosuke Takeshita, Shun Skywalker and Yuya Uemura.
After what looked to be a happy ending to the evening with the winning trio celebrating in the ring while confetti poured down on them, Kidd and the other Bullet Club War Dogs took to the ring. Kidd hit Kiyomiya with a piledriver, setting up a match between Kidd and Kiyomiya at NOAH’s June 16 show, One Night Dream 2.
Bullet Club’s Kidd and David Finlay picked up a win earlier in the night, teaming with Jake Lee to defeat Los Ingobernables de Japon’s Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and Yota Tsuji.
Monday’s card included talents from six different promotions. Wrestlers representing NJPW, NOAH, DDT, Dragon Gate, BJW, and STARDOM were booked for the show. Monday was the fourth time that an “All Together” event has been held since 2011. The series, which brings top Japanese promotions for charity fundraising events, made its return last year with a card from Ryogoku Kokugikan.
Some matchups saw numerous promotions team up. Take for example a tag match that had Dragon Gate’s Kai and NJPW wrestler Taichi beat DDT’s Chris Brookes and former NJPW World Television Champion Zack Sabre Jr. in 15 minutes.
