After a short and unsuccessful WWE run, Gable Steveson is trying to figure out his next career move.
Steveson is weighing his options following the conclusion of his WWE run earlier this month. His manager recently told Ariel Helwani that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics freestyle wrestling gold medalist has been training in MMA and talking to NFL teams.
Helwani read a statement from Steveson’s manager on Wednesday’s episode of The MMA Hour.

“Gable Steveson is very grateful for the opportunities he had with WWE and would like to thank everybody in the organization who helped him get there,” the statement started. “He would also like to thank the fans who supported him on his professional wrestling journey. Now, Gable is ready to resume competing against elite-level competition and looks forward to sharing big news with you all very soon.”
The statement then claimed that Steveson has been training at notable Florida-based gym Kill Cliff FC under coach Henri Hooft and talking to football teams.
“Multiple NFL teams have reached out to Gable Steveson,” Helwani read from the statement. “He has also been training at Kill Cliff FC with Henri Hooft and Robbie Lawler.”
Steveson signed a WWE deal in 2021, hoping to parlay his freestyle wrestling career into a run in the squared circle. He briefly appeared in NXT last year, including a six-minute match against Baron Corbin at The Great American Bash 2023. He worked five non-televised matches at Smackdown tapings earlier this year prior to his exit from the promotion last week.
