Due to injury, Lashley is out of the tournament.
The WWE SmackDown portion of the King of the Ring tournament is kicking off on 5/10. One of the advertised first-round matches was Bobby Lashley versus Tama Tonga.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis took to X and shared that due to an injury Lashley suffered during training, he is not able to compete but filling in for him will be The Pride’s Angelo Dawkins.
As of this writing, here are the first-round matches for the SmackDown bracket of King of the Ring:
- A.J. Styles vs. Randy Orton
- Baron Corbin vs. Carmelo Hayes
- L.A. Knight vs. Santos Escobar
- Angelo Dawkins vs. Tama Tonga
The participants for SmackDown’s Queen of the Ring bracket have yet to be revealed.
