Per Henry, J.D. Drake was supposed to be in WWE.

The duo known as The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & J.D. Drake) have been tagging together dating back to 2017. As of this writing, Henry is recovering from a broken jaw.

On X, Henry shared a note that when he joined WWE in 2021, J.D. Drake was supposed to be signed along with him.

Something not many know:
@RealJDDrake was supposed to be signed, alongside myself, for WWE. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

I often wonder what would have happened had that happened.

I think we still would have ended up where we are, but the journey would have been different.

Henry replied to a comment about Drake’s physique and Henry said that was not a factor and WWE ‘definitely’ wanted him. He said it was an injury that came into play.

I don’t understand the need for people to talk so poorly about others. You went out of your way to make a comment that didn’t need to be made, just to try and hurt someone.

For the record, WWE indeed wanted him. His body was not a factor in him not signing. It was an injury.

At the beginning of April, Henry was released from his AEW contract while recovering from his injury. Days later, Tony Khan said Henry will be brought back when he recovers.
