There are now four spots remaining in the NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder match at the Battleground Premium Live Event. On the 5/14 NXT on USA Network, Lash Legend bested Ivy Nile and she is joining Sol Ruca in the Ladder match, who picked up a win over Izzi Dame to advance.

Prior to Dame’s match, her now-former partner, Monday Night Raw’s Kiana James, appeared to hype her up.

It was announced that Wes Lee, Ivar and Josh Briggs would be competing in a Triple Threat on 5/21 to determine the challenger to Oba Femi’s North American Championship at Battleground. The closing angle of the program featured the return of Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang). The three talents took out Lee, Ivar and Briggs.

Mike Rome is officially back with NXT as their ring announcer. He is taking the place of Alicia Taylor, who is now the SmackDown ring announcer.

There are two Battleground Ladder match qualifiers taking place on 5/21 and those are listed as follows:

  • Fallon Henley vs. Thea Hail
  • Brinley Reece vs. Jaida Parker

The show started with Noam Dar laid out on the floor backstage. Meta-Four (Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson & Oro Mensah) checked on him. Dar stated that NXT Champion Trick Williams attacked him, but Lash denied that he would do that. Mensah filled in for Dar in the bout against Je’Von Evans. Williams showed up to add a number to Evans’ corner and he went on to secure the win. Post-match, Trick raised Je’Von’s hand.

Carlee Bright made her NXT TV in-ring debut and lost to Lola Vice. Karmen Petrovic and Natalya ran down to the ring to stop Vice and Shayna Baszler from their post-match attack. On 5/21, it’ll be Petrovic and Natalya versus Vice and Baszler.
