An update from Kingston himself.

It was at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Resurgence show that Eddie Kingston put the STRONG Openweight Championship on the line against Gabe Kidd in a No Rope Last Man Standing match.

The match came to a close when Kingston was suplexed out of the ring and the back of his leg slammed against the guardrail. PWInsider conducted an interview with Kingston and he told the outlet that he suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus which will require surgery. That is in addition to the leg injury he suffered.

He gave a comment about his injury:

This (is) part of the game. Injuries happen. I will be back.

The STRONG Openweight Title was the last of the three titles that Kingston had in his possession. He was once AEW Continental, ROH World and STRONG Openweight Champion at the same time.

He was scheduled to be part of Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing but was replaced by Darby Allin.
