Following AEW Double or Nothing, the company’s post-show media scrum took place and hosting the scrum were AEW President Tony Khan, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi and Renee Paquette.

The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson)

  • Matthew and Nicholas only fielded questions from Renee Paquette and their agent, Barry Bloom.

Will Ospreay

  • Ospreay is open to going abroad to defend the AEW International Championship. He mentioned Australia’s Melbourne City Wrestling promotion.
  • Says being on a ‘lighter’ schedule with AEW does not mean he nor anyone else there isn’t working hard.

Swerve Strickland

  • Strickland states that Christian Cage showed why he’s one of the best AEW signings, but he (Strickland) showed why he’s the best signing.
  • He discussed Floyd Mayweather being front row for the title match. He’s been in talks with Mayweather for two years. Strickland teased that The Money Team could get involved in future AEW spots.
  • Strickland talked about making the media rounds as World Champion. He shared that he has not slept in his new house because of the new schedule.
  • Addresses MJF’s return. Swerve is not someone that can be walked over. MJF has work to put in before he can get back to the World Title.
  • His ‘Pressure 1’ shoes are going to come out very soon. They’re working on trademarks and there’s big support behind the project. He stated that they’ll come out when the time is right.

Tony Khan & Hiroshi Tanahashi

  • Khan thinks MGM Grand Garden Arena is more ‘chill’ than T-Mobile Arena. He thinks AEW scared some of the people at T-Mobile a few times.
  • Khan discussed potential additions as far as Women’s Tag or Trios Titles. He is interested in Mixed Tag Team Championships.
  • ROH Women’s World Champion Athena is ‘a little beat up’ but she’ll be 100 percent soon.
  • Khan hopes to collaborate with House of the Dragon again.
  • Tony reiterates that he’s having great talks with WarnerMedia about the future of AEW. He would love for the company to stay under their umbrella.
  • Following Adam Copeland landing on his feet after jumping off the Steel Cage, Khan said Copeland is being checked out and they’re hoping he’s okay.
  • If there was an AEW x NJPW event in Japan, Khan said it would not necessarily be Forbidden Door, but you never know what could happen.
