Ethan Page getting shot at Trick Williams’ NXT Championship at Battleground

Page versus Williams at Battleground.

The arrival of Ethan Page to WWE NXT saw him immediately go after the reigning NXT Champion Trick Williams. Going into the 6/4 program, it was stressed that Page has not signed a contract and was still a free agent.

He presented what he needed from General Manager Ava to sign a deal, but she was not willing to meet his demands.

During their public contract signing segment, Page said he could have sat at home for the next two years and collected a check, but he wanted to go after an opportunity.

Trick urged Ava to give Ethan whatever he wanted so they can make a match between them happen and one of Page’s perks is that he gets a shot at the NXT Championship at Battleground on June 9th.

The match was made official and with the addition, here’s the updated Battleground lineup:

  • NXT Women’s North American Championship — Ladder Match: Sol Ruca vs. Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley vs. Jaida Parker vs. Michin vs. Kelani Jordan
  • NXT North American Championship — Triple Threat Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Wes Lee vs. Joe Coffey
  • NXT Underground Match: Shayna Baszler vs. Lola Vice
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
  • NXT Tag Team Championships: Nathan Frazer & Axiom (c) vs. The O.C. (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows)
  • NXT Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ethan Page
