Niven discusses the inspiration that Drew McIntyre provided.

Coming up for WWE’s main roster is the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in Glasgow, Scotland. As of this writing, there are four Scottish talents scheduled for title matches on the show and those names are Drew McIntyre, Piper Niven, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.

As the event inches closer, talents on the show are making the media rounds and Piper Niven spoke to Gregor Kyle of The Herald. She spoke about the inspiration that Drew provided for her and others in regards to making them believe Scottish wrestlers could make it to WWE.

My uncle used to tell me how there was a world record set for a bench press that couldn’t be beaten. One year, one person did it. As soon as that record was broken, three other people went on to break it that year because they believed it was possible. Drew (McIntyre) made us believe it was possible for Scottish wrestlers to get to the WWE. Drew was the pioneer. He showed us there was a path and as soon as you believe something’s possible, that is the catalyst. That’s what spurs people on. That’s what gives people hope to keep pushing, despite all the obstacles and hurdles.

Drew McIntyre is going to be facing Sheamus in a dark match on the Friday Night SmackDown in Scotland.

As of this writing, below is the lineup for Clash at the Castle:

  • Undisputed WWE Championship — I Quit Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. A.J. Styles
  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven
