The idea for D’Amore to get involved with ROH was suggested by Will Ospreay.

During the press run leading into AEW Double or Nothing, Will Ospreay was interviewed by Adrian Hernandez. As their chat moved along, Ospreay mentioned the level of respect he has for former TNA President Scott D’Amore. He brought up the idea of D’Amore running Ring of Honor.

D’Amore was terminated from his role as TNA President earlier this year and was replaced by Anthem Sports & Entertainment executive Anthony Cicione.

Current TNA producer Rhino read Ospreay’s remarks and brought it up as he was doing a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest. Rhino stated that D’Amore is at home and thinks he’s being paid until February 2025.

Someone said — I read online they (AEW) should get Scott D’Amore to run Ring of Honor… It would ease the burden on some of the talent but, Scott’s at home getting paid for — I think till next February and he’s never not worked, you know? Or never gotten paid to not work.

TNA is collaborating with WWE and Rhino expressed that it is unlikely that he’ll be involved in that crossover.

Oh no (Rhino responded when asked if he’ll be part of the WWE-TNA crossover) … No. Unless they show up in Detroit but I don’t think so.

At NXT Battleground, Ash by Elegance f.k.a. Dana Brooke and Tatum Paxley distracted Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace in her match against NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez which led to Grace losing.
