IWGP Women’s Title match between Tsukasa Fujimoto & Mayu Iwatani ends after Fujimoto suffers right elbow injury

Fujimoto went down with an injury. 

Korakuen Hall played host to Ice Ribbon’s June 23rd show and there were three championship matches on the bill. One of the bouts saw Mayu Iwatani defending the IWGP Women’s Title against Tsukasa Fujimoto. 

At the 16-minute mark, the match was stopped after Fujimoto suffered a right elbow injury. Iwatani retained her title as a result. 

Post-match, Iwatani praised Fujimoto for wanting to continue on despite the injury. Iwatani is the third IWGP Women’s Champion and it was her sixth defense of the belt.
