Mariah May defeated Saraya during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door ‘Zero Hour’ pre-show to advance to the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semifinals.
May will next face Hikaru Shida in the semifinals after Shida bested Deonna Purrazzo on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision.
Saraya was accompanied by Harley Cameron, while May had Toni Storm in her corner.
Storm, with her hair still in rollers ahead of the pay-per-view, helped her protégé by fending off interference from Cameron.
The semifinal on the other side of the bracket is already set, with Willow Nightingale facing Kris Statlander on the July 3rd ‘Beach Break’ episode of AEW Dynamite.
