Going into the match, Moné held the TBS Title, while Vaquer was NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion.
Befitting a title vs. title match, the contest was even for the most part, with the momentum regularly swinging from one woman to the other.
As the match continued, the crowd appeared to get behind Vaquer, whose move set looked clinical. The commentary team put the negative crowd reaction down to Moné’s association with Boston.
Nevertheless, Mercedes hit the Moné Maker and the cross-face for the submission win.
