Friday Night SmackDown posted a virtually identical number from the previous week while AEW Collision was hurt airing against Money in the Bank.
This past Friday’s episode of SmackDown averaged 2,256,000 viewers and 867,000 (0.66) in the 18-49 demographic on Fox, mirroring last week’s audience and demo rating, per Programming Insider and Wrestlenomics.
In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown’s male viewership grew by seven percent averaging 581,000 viewers while females in the category dropped by 11 percent to 286,000. Adults 18-34 had a five percent uptick to 276,000 viewers while Adults 35-49 declined two percent from the previous week.
The first thirty minutes of SmackDown aired against President Biden’s interview on ABC, which averaged 8,578,000 viewers and 0.70 in the 18-49 demographic. SmackDown ranked second for the night among the 18-49 demo behind Biden’s interview.
The show aired from Toronto with a Canadian audience averaging 186,000 viewers and 81,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. It failed to rank among the top ten sports programs on Friday due to a big day of soccer coverage and a Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners game.
AEW Rampage on Friday averaged 309,000 viewers and 138,000 (0.10) in the 18-49 demographic representing increases of two and fifteen percent respectively from the prior week.
Rampage had large growth among males 18-49 going from 65,000 to 86,000 this past week while females in the demo decreased by six percent, per Wrestlenomics.
Adults 18-34 averaged 42,000 for the July 5 episode, representing a 50 percent increase from June 28.
SmackDown and Rampage aired against the Copa America game between Venezuela and Canada, which averaged 1,398,000 viewers and 0.50 in the 18-49 demo on FS 1.
AEW Collision was the show that took a major hit over the weekend airing head-to-head with WWE Money in the Bank. It was the first head-to-head programming of Collision with a WWE PLE since WrestleMania 40 – Night 1.
Saturday’s episode dropped to 306,000 viewers and 112,000 (0.08) in the 18-49 demographic, dropping 28 and 32 percent respectively, according to Wrestlenomics.
It was Collision’s second-lowest audience in its regular Saturday slot and third-lowest 18-49 audience in the normal slot.
In the 18-49 demo, males fell by 32 percent and females declined by 31 percent from the June 28 show.
Adults 18-34 averaged 32,000 viewers or a 0.05 rating, which was a decrease of 41 percent.
Collision included the semi-final match of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup between Hangman Page and Jay White, a promo by MJF opening the show.
The WWE Raw figures have not been released yet, but the show ranked first among sports programming in Canada on Monday with the Toronto Blue Jays not playing.
