Ric Flair and his Wooooo! Energy drink sponsorship deal appear to be in AEW’s past.
The news was first reported by Fightful Select and later confirmed by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Flair appeared on the 25th October 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite as a “special gift” to Sting. Flair continued to appear intermittently on AEW programming as part of Sting’s retirement run.
At the same time, AEW announced a “multi-year” sponsorship arrangement with Flair’s drink, Wooooo! Energy.
In December 2023, Tony Khan stated that all of Flair’s appearances on AEW television were being funded by the energy drink brand.
Viewers had noted that the Wooooo! branding had not appeared on AEW shows of late, and Meltzer reported that it was not expected to return.
The circumstances surrounding the premature ending of the sponsorship deal are not yet known.
