WWE NXT notes: Ethan Page retains title, Wren Sinclair wants in on NQCC, Rascalz def. Gallus

Ethan Page’s first defense of the NXT Championship was against Dante Chen and he retained. Afterwards, Oro Mensah went after Page once again. He self-counted himself a pin fall victory over Page to show he could beat the champion.

Wren Sinclair witnessed No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights & Myles Borne) ‘get rid of a body’ on the 7/9 program. She approached them and told them that she wants in the group. She is using the information as a way to finesse her way into the group.

Kicking off the show was The Rascalz (Wes Lee, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) picking up a win over Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang). Joe Hendry joined commentary for the match and The Rascalz scored the win.

In the main event, Oba Femi defeated Duke Hudson to retain the North American Championship.

Je’Von Evans and Brooks Jensen went one-on-one and Evans picked up the victory. It was Jensen’s first match since March. He went after Je’Von post-match but Josh Briggs stopped him. Brooks later told Josh that he wants to face him in a No DQ match on 7/23.

Trick Williams reached out to Ilja Dragunov about no longer being NXT Champion and wanting the title back. The two talents were on FaceTime. In the background, Pete Dunne stared Williams down and Williams attempted to get advice from Dunne but was told to figure it out himself.

The newly-introduced NXT duo of Cedric Alexander and Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis were backstage. Adonis attempted to show interest in Jakara Jackson but Lash Legend and Oro Mensah were not allowing it to develop. Mensah versus Adonis is set for 7/23.

The rivalry between The O.C. (Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows & Michin) and O.T.M. (Jaida Parker, Lucien Price & Bronco Nima) continued. The O.C. bested them in a six-person tag.

Scheduled for 7/23 is Eddy Thorpe versus Lexis King.
