Tony Khan credits RJ City as ‘right hand’ for Toni Storm, Mariah May feud

RJ City is much more than the host of AEW’s “Hey! EW” web-series.

Tony Khan recently claimed that City has made contributions to AEW’s writing, specifically the ongoing feud between women’s champ Toni Storm and former ally Mariah May.

Khan dished out praise for City, who he said has played a big role in crafting Storm’s current “Timeless” character.

“My right hand in all of this is RJ,” Khan told Sports Illustrated in a recent interview. “He was the only person in the office who’d seen All About Eve and Sunset Boulevard, and he understood old Hollywood and the old movies. He’s been so valuable and tremendous throughout this process. He has a great aptitude for wrestling, and he was also able to use these movies for inspiration.”

City, a wrestler with more than a decade’s of independent scene experience to his name, might be best recongizable for his on-screen roles in AEW. He frequently appears as a reporter on the show, being presented during pre-show broadcasts and during backstage segments. He is also seen in a variety of programs on AEW’s Youtube channel.

May ended last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite by turning against Storm, attacking her just after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. In a homecoming, May will challenge for Storm’s title as part of All In 2024 at the Wembley Stadium in London, England.
