Haste states that NJPW treats him very well.

It was first reported by Fightful Select that current IWGP and STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champion Shane Haste signed a new deal with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

That was confirmed by Haste as he was speaking to Irish Wrestling & Entertainment. He spoke about how well the company has treated him.

Yeah (I’ve signed a new deal with NJPW). With the other options out there and whatnot, I love Japan. New Japan treat me so well. Seeing how other friends were getting treated at other companies, it just didn’t make things seem very appealing to me compared to just how well New Japan do look after me, how accommodating they are and just the trajectory that TMDK’s going at the moment there, it’s like, I don’t know, why would I wanna leave?

On the lead-up to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Haste competed on Collision. He reflected on the experience and spoke about how he appreciates AEW President Tony Khan for hyping wrestlers up.

I loved AEW. AEW was so much fun too. There’s a lot of similarities between that and WWE because it is (a) national, worldwide wrestling television show but yeah, there’s a lot more freedom there to be yourself and trust. Tony (Khan) trusts the wrestlers to go do what they do, which is great and you come back and he’s so supportive. He loves everything. So I don’t know if that’s a good barometer on if I’m actually good or not but, afterwards I’m like, ooouuu, I’m really good. I can’t remember what match it is but it was one match I had and I’m like, ‘That wasn’t very good. At least I was wasn’t very good’ and he’s like, ‘Man, that was great. Thank you very much’ and I’m like, ‘Maybe I am good.’ A big part of wrestling is confidence. If you’ve got confidence, people will see you in the ring have confidence… You have to have that confidence. You have to have that built up so yeah, that’s the funny difference of it there and chill but the best thing to me in wrestling is the backstage…

Haste stated that he’ll be at NJPW Capitol Collision in late August. He will not be a part of the upcoming G1 Climax tour.
