TNA Slammiversary Results: Nic Nemeth wins TNA Heavyweight Championship

Nic Nemeth is the new TNA Heavyweight Champion following Saturday’s Six-Way Elimination at Slammiversary.

The main event featured Nemeth winning the championship for the first time after pinning Frankie Kazarian to win the match.

The major story out of the match was Josh Alexander turning heel midway through the match after kicking Joe Hendry low and using the C4 Spike to eliminate Hendry. Hendry was the most popular wrestler in the match, and it did take the crowd time to rebound after his elimination. Alexander continued to attack Hendry while calling him a “joke” and stating he was “the heart and soul of TNA”.

Steve Maclin was the first one eliminated when he was pinned following a spear by Moose.

Hendry’s big moment was pinning Moose after the Standing Ovation and guaranteeing that there would be a new champion crowned.

Moose was the second man eliminated in the match. He had been TNA champion for the past six months after regaining the title at Hard to Kill earlier this year.

Nemeth eliminated Alexander after a superkick, which led to Nemeth and Kazarian as the final two in the match. Nemeth landed a superkick and hit the Danger Zone to win the match.

His brother Ryan and babyface champions Jordynne Grace, ABC, and PCO came out to celebrate with Nemeth as the show went off the air.

There were four title changes on the show with ABC winning the TNA tag titles, Speedball Mike Bailey becoming the new X Division Champion, and PCO defeating AJ Francis for the Digital Media Championship.

The next  TNA+ specials are Emergence on August 30 and Victory Road on September 13.
