AEW Collision viewers who tuned in this weekend expecting to hear ‘Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)’ by Elton John got a surprise.
A new and radically different opening theme named ‘The Red Light is On (Let’s Go)’ by AEW’s Head of Music, Mikey Rukus, opened the show instead.

The change was not welcomed by all.
Rukus took to social media in response to a viewer to acknowledge, “I knew it would be universally hated.”

It is not known why the change was made, but licensing the Elton John classic would clearly be very expensive compared with using an in-house theme.
Rukus added that the new theme, which features Omega Sparx, was only finished on Saturday.
