Allin states that there was no hesitation from Martha.

Coming up on July 24th is the Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite. The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Hangman Adam Page, Jack Perry & Kazuchika Okada) will be taking on Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Anthony Bowens, Mark Briscoe, Max Caster & Darby Allin).

Going into Blood & Guts, there was a fight between the two sides at Dynamite 250 and it was at the conclusion of the show when Darby joined the fray by ascending down from the rafters.

Allin told the Battleground Podcast that Tony Khan presented the idea to Martha Hart at the 7/10 Dynamite in Calgary. He said there was no hesitation from Martha to approve, but if she did not give the green light, the backup plan was for Allin to bring out his flamethrower.

Well, plan B was coming back out with the flamethrower. Torching a fool. But… she (Martha Hart) walked up right before she was to go out live, when she presented (Bryan) Danielson with the trophy for the Owen Hart Foundation and then Tony’s like, ‘Hey, we’re thinking of Darby coming down from the ceiling’ and she’s like, ‘Well, first of all, I love your work Darby and I trust AEW with everything. All the precautions’ because you know, we got a great team… It seemed like there was no hesitation on her part. It was cool because I was right there and just talked to her and she knows how everybody goes about things… So much safety went into that and it’s just like, yeah, we don’t mess around, so…

Blood & Guts will be Allin’s first match since Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing in May. The 7/24 show will be reviewed here on POST Wrestling at this link
