Dhesi named talents in different companies that he’d like to share the ring with.
Raj Dhesi a.k.a. Jinder Mahal’s eight-year run with WWE came to an end this past April. He is now a free agent and is currently working dates/has dates lined up with Game Changer Wrestling and Black Label Pro.
He is making the media rounds and one of his stops was a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest. He named HOOK, Josh Alexander, Joe Hendry, Gabe Kidd and Hiroshi Tanahashi as people he’d like to share the ring with.
So let’s pick one from AEW, HOOK. Let’s pick one from TNA, Josh Alexander. Yeah, those two. HOOK and Josh Alexander… Let’s pick one from New Japan. Gabe Kidd, I like Gabe Kidd. Let’s go — this is a tricky one. Yeah, Gabe Kidd… New Japan also, (Hiroshi) Tanahashi. Big fan of Tanahashi for many years… I do too (believe in Joe Hendry). Joe Hendry, yeah, let’s make it happen.
Staying on the topic of HOOK, he spoke about the tweet exchange with AEW President Tony Khan in January. Dhesi stated that after that, he began watching HOOK.
Dhesi heaped praise onto the former FTW Champion and added that his reply to Khan was all in good fun.
Tony (Khan) just said, ‘Where’s the backlash when Jinder’s getting a championship match? When HOOK is 28-0 or 28-1 or something.’ That was the thing and I just said, ‘Who the —- is HOOK?’ That was it… Yeah, I’m a former WWE Champion (so I should be able to get a title shot). But then I actually started watching HOOK and I really like his style. I like his demeanor, his style, everything about him. He’s like the next generation, right? The next generation, the next evolution of pro wrestling. HOOK is one of the best… We’re just having fun on Twitter. It’s just wrestling.
On August 2nd, Dhesi will be making his GCW in-ring debut against EFFY at the promotion’s ‘Now and Forever’ show in Cleveland, Ohio.
