It felt surreal for Bailey.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada played host to TNA Slammiversary and their post-PPV television taping. At the pay-per-view, second to last on the card saw ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey end Mustafa Ali’s reign as X Division Champion.

The final sequences of the match included referee Earl Hebner making his return to Montreal and he opted not to cheat Quebec native Mike Bailey out of the match. While guest appearing on Busted Open, ‘Speedball’ talked about the victory and called Hebner the star of the show.

Man, what an absolutely incredible weekend it was. Just to be home. It was the one, two, three, straight jab combo, right hook of being at home, defeating the undefeated Mustafa Ali to become two-time X Division Champion and having Earl Hebner be the star of the show if we’re being honest, get his story of redemption. Coming back to Montreal. It felt absolutely surreal.

Elsewhere in the conversation, he heaped praise onto fellow Quebec native and newly crowned TNA Digital Media and Canadian International Heavyweight Champion, PCO. Bailey spoke about the media run that PCO was on to promote Slammiversary.

I landed last Sunday in Montreal and the first day, as soon as I got back home, we went straight to the arena. Me and PCO went to a basketball game for the Montreal Alliance at the venue and I’ve been doing interviews every day of the week ever since last Sunday. But the man we really have to credit for the house is PCO. That man has been working tirelessly for months to fill this venue for Slammiversary specifically. PCO said it, filling out this specific arena was his childhood dream and he did absolutely everything in his power for the last several months to make that happen.

The Slammiversary fallout edition of TNA iMPACT is set to air on 7/25. As of this writing, being advertised for the program is Ash by Elegance and Hammerstone versus Eric Young and Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace.
