The start of the two-week NXT Great American Bash special on SYFY kicks off on July 30th. A Joe Hendry video package aired and it was announced that Hendry will be doing an in-ring concert at night one of Great American Bash. Gallus’ Joe Coffey proceeded to call out Hendry for a match and then all Gallus members found their cars covered in Joe Hendry photo prints.

The NXT Women’s Championship bout at night one of Great American Bash will be Roxanne Perez defending against Thea Hail.

Kicking off the show was Trick Williams and he would ultimately be joined in the ring by Cedric Alexander and Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis. There was back-and-forth between Williams and Adonis. Williams brought up Hit Row and went on to knock Adonis out of the ring. Former Hit Row member A.J. Francis reacted to the group name being brought up to Adonis:

My thing is this… why are all you n***as talking about ME everytime yall talking to Ashante?

That’s not corny to yall?

Later in the night, Williams went on to best Alexander in singles competition. Trick was ambushed by Pete Dunne afterwards.

The duo of Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson picked up a win over Karmen Petrovic and Sol Ruca. Following their win, they called out Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. The challenge was accepted and the match is official for night one of Great American Bash.

Prior to the aforementioned match, Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic along with Lola Vice were backstage and they were looking at highlights from Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE in-ring debut.

In the main event, The Rascalz (Wes Lee, Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) bested Je’Von Evans and NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Wentz pinned Axiom.

NXT Champion Ethan Page brought a referee to the ring to show that Oro Mensah self-counting himself a victory over Page does not count. Mensah entered the ring and did it again and had the referee count it. Page then went to General Manager Ava and offered to put his title on the line against Mensah. On 7/30, they’ll have a contract signing and on night two of Great American Bash on 8/6, they’ll have the title match.

No Quarter Catch Crew’s Charlie Dempsey helped Wren Sinclair beat Brinley Reece so that Sinclair would not speak about seeing N.Q.C.C. put a ‘body’ in their car trunk.

There was a No DQ match between Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen. After being distracted by Shawn Spears, Briggs lost the match.

In singles action on the night was Lexis King and Eddy Thorpe. King lost the match but afterwards, he ambushed Thorpe, trapped his hand in-between the ring steps and smashed it with a metal object.

Tony D’Angelo’s Heritage Cup will be on the line at Great American Bash night one as he defends against No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights.
