Royal Rampage

Rampage kicked off with the Royal Rampage starting with Orange Cassidy and Brody King in the left ring and Claudio Castagnoli and Komander in the right ring.

The next man out was Tomohiro Ishii who immediately went at it with Brody King. Brian Cage was out next, followed by The Butcher – certainly adding to the meaty mix.

The action continued as Daddy Magic’s music hit and he got up from the commentary table to enter the match.

Roderick Strong entered next, followed by Kip Sabian. Brandon Cutler was next and he was immediately eliminated by Ishii the second he stepped into the ring. Nick Wayne was in next and immediately went after Kip Sabian whom he had a run-in with on Dynamite earlier in the week. Daddy Magic was eliminated by Brian Cage, followed by Kyle O’Reilly entering next, going right after Roderick Strong. Hometown hero Jeff Jarrett was in next to a huge pop as the show went to Picture in Picture.

As we returned, The Butcher had just been eliminated as Matt Taven entered next. who of course immediately helped Roderick Strong. Komander was then eliminated by Nick Wayne as Jay Lethal entered next going to Jarrett’s side. Kip Sabian then eliminated Nick Wayne as they cut to the back where Christian Cage blamed Killswitch for not being out there to help Wayne. Mike Bennett was next – officially evening the odds in the left ring between The Conglomeration and Undisputed Kingdom. The Beast Mortos was out next to join the fray. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal then teamed up to eliminate Kip Sabian. Darby Allin was the final entrant for the left ring to a huge pop as he immediately squared off against Brody King who eliminated Darby in the 2022 Royal Rampage. These two exited the ring under the top rope and started brawling in the crowd. The final entrant in the right ring was Lio Rush.

After the next commercial break, Lio Rush eliminated The Beast Mortos as Darby Allin and Brody King continued to brawl outside the ring with Allin hitting King with a chair. The eliminations then came fast and furious with Bennett, Ishii, Taven, and O’Reilly all in quick succession. Lio Rush and Roderick Strong were eliminated next simultaneously but from opposite rings. Jay Lethal was then eliminated by Claudio Castagnoli.

Brody King and Darby Allin were finally in the ring and King tried to repeat the spot with him choking him over the outside but Allin rebounded and eliminated King. The last three in the right ring were Brian Cage, Claudio Castagnoli, and Jeff Jarrett. Out of nowhere, Hangman Adam Page appeared and beat down Jeff Jarrett. Page instructed Brian Cage to toss Jarrett out which he did as Hangman continued the beatdown on the outside.

As we returned, Claudio Castagnoli and Brian Cage exchanged blows in the right ring as the announce team noted that Jeff Jarrett could have “easily won” if it weren’t for Hangman. Castagnoli then hit the Neutralizer on Cage and eliminated him. This now left Darby Allin and Claudio Castagnoli as the final two competitors. Castagnoli immediately picked Darby up threw him from the right ring into the left ring and flew through the bottom rope to the outside on the far side. Claudio then took the steel steps and executed a giant swing with Darby’s head nailing the steps in the end.

The announce team acted as if it was all over for Allin but he mounted a comeback as the two battled on the ring apron. Darby then Coffin Dropped Claudio who was splayed across the top rope which sent Claudio to the floor as Darby Allin won the Royal Rampage. After the match, Allin tried to shake Claudio’s hand but Claudio stormed off. Darby then brought a kid in face paint and a pink bathrobe out to celebrate.

4-Way Tag Team

The main event saw new member of the Don Callis Family Rush teaming with Kyle Fletcher, taking on The Outrunners, Private Party, and The Righteous. The Callis Family won after Kyle Fletcher hit a Belly-to-Back Tombstone on Turbo Floyd for the pinfall. After the match, Callis got in the ring and Rush and Fletcher attacked The Outrunners leaving them lying.

Final Thoughts

The Royal Rampage is always fun and this was no exception. If there was any issue it was the other three matches on the show were rushed with two being roughly one-minute squashes. Either way, the battle royal was great and worth checking out even in a weekend stuffed to the brim with wrestling.
