The final year of Satomura’s career.

Tokyo Sports was first to report that Meiko Satomura is planning to retire from in-ring competition and her final match would be in April 2025. That will be the 30th anniversary since her pro wrestling debut.

Satomura held a press conference and she confirmed that she would like to move on to the next stage of her life. Starting in September, she’ll wrestle in a series of matches for her Sendai Girls’ promotion. She stated that she has until April 2025 and is open to competing for other promotions.

As the presser went on, Satomura brought up WWE and seeing the coaches and producers there was a driving force that led to her wanting to discover what’s next after her in-ring career.

Emi Sakura appeared at the press conference and stated that she wants to face her.

On the final stop of WWE’s tour of Japan on 7/27, Satomura will challenge Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship.
