Meiko Satomura to challenge for WWE Women’s Championship in Tokyo

Meiko Satomura will challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship on the final night of WWE’s tour in Japan.

Satomura issued a challenge to Bayley on Friday’s event at Ryogoku Kokugikan (Sumo Hall)

This followed an eight-woman tag where Bayley & Satomura teamed with Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair to defeat IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane & Tiffany Stratton.

Friday’s show was headlined by Cody Rhodes defeating AJ Styles to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Satomura, 44, has been wrestling since 1995 and became one of the top female wrestlers in the world working for Gaea Japan and Sendai Girls. She entered WWE in 2018 as a part of the Mae Young Classic and signed with the promotion in 2020. She was the final NXT UK Women’s champion.
