Britt Baker: I was so nervous prior to my AEW return match against Hikaru Shida

Baker was feeling the nerves ahead of the match.

For the first time since September 2023, Britt Baker was in action on AEW television. Her return match was against Hikaru Shida on the Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite.

Baker was candid about the health scare that led to her extended time away from the ring. She told Ringside Collectibles that she was ‘so nervous’ ahead of the match with Shida.

So wait, I didn’t just have a return match. They threw me into the fire. They said, here, your first match back, you’re gonna wrestle the longest-reigning Women’s Champion ever, (Hikaru) Shida. So I was so nervous for that match and I am so sore today. I woke up and I was like, ‘Oh my God, my head hurts, my neck hurts, my back’ but, I miss that so much. I missed the aches and pains and everything in-between and I mean, hey, that’s a hell of a win to start out off on is Shida. That’s no joke and every match with Shida is a battle so I’m happy I came out on top and I’m happy I’m standing today. Physically able to stand. It’s great.

After Britt’s win, she was ambushed from behind by Kamille, the new muscle for TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné.

It was made official that Moné is going to be defending her TBS Championship against Baker at AEW All In.
